Peninsula Home Improvements is sponsoring the 5k charity Llandegfan Fun Run for the second year to ensure the event raises invaluable funds for a trio of local good causes.
The annual run will take place on Wednesday 6 June and the event, which is now in its sixth year, expects to attract over 400 people who will pound the streets and lanes of Llandegfan to raise funds for the local school, Ysgol Llandegfan; Gafael Llaw, which supports children and young people from Gwynedd and Anglesey suffering from cancer and Ynys Mon and Gwynedd Mind, which provides information and services concerning mental health and wellbeing.
Peninsula Home Improvements are contributing to the running costs for the event. Ken Grayson, CEO of Peninsula Home Improvements said: “The Llandegfan Fun Run is a true community initiative involving young and old whether they take part by running or walking the 5k or helping with the marshalling and other volunteer roles. It’s a fabulous event with a real carnival atmosphere that pulls the community together to help support the local school and those that are less fortunate.
“Having taken part for four years I have been able to see for myself how much good this event does and to enable the organisers to continue their incredible work I was only too willing to sponsor them again.”
Julie Van Weert, organiser concluded; “We are extremely grateful to Ken and everyone at Peninsula Home Improvements for supporting us again. It makes a massive difference having this contribution to the running costs, so that more money can go to these three good causes. Last year we raised £8,500 so we are aiming for more this year so why not come and support us. Even if you don’t want to take part there’ll be stalls, a barbecue and a bouncy castle and everybody is welcome.”
The race starts at 6.30pm with an £8 entrance fee for adults and £5 for children. For more information visit https://secure.onreg.com/onreg2/front/step1.php?id=4088.
