Our commitment as we navigate Coronavirus (COVID-19)

March 18 2020

We are actively monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and as our government prepares to introduce further measures to contain the spread of the virus here in the UK we wanted to take the opportunity to reassure all of our customers that we are taking steps to protect our business, our staff and you, our customers.

 Business as usual

As I write to you our business remains unaffected by the impact of the Coronavirus; we continue to accept new orders and fit within our usual lead times.

Promoting hygienic working practices

We assure you that none of our employees have travelled to at risk locations recently and have not been suspected of, spent time in isolation for or been diagnosed with the COVID-19 virus.

Ensuring the health and safety of everyone remains our top priority.  During the course of the coming weeks, our staff have been instructed to follow government guidelines and will be asked to self-isolate if they show any signs of the main symptoms.

Reducing or eliminating the need for face to face contact

We acknowledge our customers' concerns about having unnecessary face to face contact with our staff and we have put appropriate measures in place, in line with government guidelines, to ensure the safety of both our customers and our staff.

From the first point of sale through to installation, we will work with our customers to eliminate the need for any face to face contact should they need or choose to self-isolate.  This will be possible with a combination of communication via phone, email and other platforms, including computer aided design.

Our surveyors and installers are able to complete surveys and installations without the need for customers to be present, and they will diligently follow instructions from customers wishing to self-isolate in particular rooms during an installation, which will be no-go zones for our staff.

If we can get any shopping or run any errands, whilst customers are self-isolating, then we are more than happy to do so – please don’t hesitate to ask.

Our Commitment

Peninsula is a family run business in its 35th year of trading and is currently without debt.    The Government has announced that it is facilitating loans for small businesses by acting as an 80% guarantor during these difficult times ahead of us, and this first line of credit is available to us, as well as access to private lending should we need it.

We’re asking our highly valued customers to work with us to carry on with “business as usual” as best we can, so that we can safeguard the jobs and income for the 30 families that rely on the company for their livelihoods as well as the numerous self-employed sub-contractors that we regularly use.

We are offering some excellent prices during the next fortnight, as an additional incentive to keep us operating “business as usual”.  Please continue to support all local businesses and their staff and families during these difficult times.

Yours sincerely

Ken Grayson

Chief Executive Officer
